Whenever someone lands in a new city they’ll undoubtedly be curious about the best places to go, sites to see, restaurants to sample and bars to check out.
Of course it’s the locals who know all the best spots, the hidden gems and the ‘real’ side of their cities and neighbourhoods away from the tourist traps.
Around the Corner is attempting to harness this local knowledge by creating ‘vox pops’ style videos based on street interviews with locals. The videos are then displayed at reception and other high traffic areas in upscale hotels and accompanied by a printed guide which visitors can take away with them.
The business is primarily ad supported and is currently operating in a handful of London neighbourhoods. Definitely one to adapt to your own local market or for digital publishers to incorporate into their business models.
