Sleep It Off in a Wine Barrel Hotel

innovative business idea: hotel rooms made from wine barrels

On the rare occasion that you have a little too much to drink, you may wake up feeling as though you’ve spent the night at the bottom of a wine barrel.

If your hangover happens to occur in The Netherlands, that just might be the case.

A Dutch hotel, Hotel de Vrouwe van Stavoren, offers rooms built out of disused 14,500 liter wine casks. The rooms rent from around $150 a night and feature two single beds and a comfy little living area.

Like most businesses, tourism is about telling (and selling) a story. It could be about luxury or history or, in this case, quirky originality. Short of buying a fleet of wine barrels, how could you add some quirkiness to your story?
