Over the last few weeks, we’ve mentioned a couple of businesses that specialize in helping bands spread the word.
Launched in October last year, ebandlive develop sexy looking websites based on a pretty impressive content management system (CMS) designed specifically with bands in mind.
Ready-made sites are available for around $20 a month, but if you want something a little more advanced you can fork out $995 to have them design something for you or do it yourself.
But the real advantage is the CMS which offers all the bells and whistles a band could need – and would cost thousands if designed as a one-off.

Functions include the ability to integrate with itunes, add upcoming gigs, use audio and video players, blogs and news sections, mailing lists and iPhone and mobile versions of your site as standard.
Ecommerce and social media integration are next on the list as the CMS is continually developed to add new features:
“We’ve got big plans for the future. Our goal is to focus heavily on integration with the social networking platforms out there. Bands need to be heard and by taking advantage of these important networking aspects, it can virtually make a band! Plans for the latter part of 2009 include working deals with merchandise fulfillment houses in distributing merchandise for our bands.”
If you’re band, this one’s a ‘no brainer’. If you’re a talented web developer on the other hand; pick a niche, build something brilliant for them and the roll it out.
