Which are better, cats or dogs? Are children really worth the hassle? Who are the best football team?
Everyone loves a good argument but aMap, developed by online opinion and research firm Delib, have taken the fine art of arguing just a little further with their personalized interactive argument maps (aMaps).
In their own words, the site:
enables people to create their own personalised aMaps, and then share and argue with friends online. This has become particularly popular amongst bloggers and online communities, with anything from the modern merits of poetry to the question of beer or cider being hotly debated.
The maps are based on what the site calls the ‘informal logic’ that people use to argue all the time (see above).
Perhaps most interestingly, you can actually buy printed versions of the arguments as novelty gifts or as good ‘pub debate’ fodder.
Costing just £2.50 each the printed amaps are a great example of online content going offline – souvenirs if you will.
