If you’re unfortunate enough to suffer a serious accident or illness while traveling abroad, getting yourself home is probably a top priority.
Unfortunately, travel insurance won’t always cover the cost of getting you back – especially if that means the expense of a dedicated medical airplane.
Air Ambulance Card bills itself like an auto club membership for your body. Wherever you are in the world, they send a dedicated air ambulance to transport you back to a US or Canadian hospital of your choosing.
A testimonial from their site illustrates it well:
“We were in a third-world country. You do not want to have that kind of surgery in those conditions, especially when you don’t speak the language. You need to be close to home, close to your doctors, not only for surgery, but for the recovery. I am forever grateful that there is a service like this out there. If I didn’t have it, I would still be [in Brazil] recovering.”
From only $195 a year for a personal membership or $295 to cover a family it’s not a huge investment – making it ideal for frequent travelers, those planning a major trip or worried parents packing of Junior for their gap year travels.
Certainly one for smart travel businesses to partner with.

Actually this seems like a really good idea, especially as you more than likely would not be covered for such an expense. And at $195 it’s really reasonably priced.
