A few days ago we wrote about starting a video tutorials business. Well, no sooner had we clicked publish than Emily Coltman from Ask M Ltd got in touch to say that’s what she did for a living.
In her own words:
I make bespoke screen-capture videos – using software which records what’s happening on a computer screen.
It’s great for making tutorial videos to help people learn to use a computer programme, or for recording a PowerPoint presentation which could be used for sales. All the videos are narrated so that there’s spoken explanations as well as the visual.
You can see a sample video here.
Although the business has just launched in the last few weeks, Ask M has already secured projects with a number of software companies looking for new ways to demonstrate their wares and educate their customers.
Of course, screen-capture software is widely available online but the hassle and (time) cost of a DIY approach makes Ask M a perfect, cost-effective alternative.
It’s a simple niche business model for freelancers with a particular expertise to follow.
